Sunset Vista in the Smokies, July 2025

We had the best time at this beautiful cabin. So peaceful and had everything we needed. If we wasn’t sitting outside enjoying the view we were inside having a good time playing pool. Most definitely would stay here again.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, July 2025

The location is perfect. Peaceful and out of the busyness of gatlinburg and pigeon forge. The views are amazing as well. We loved sitting on the deck drinking coffee in the mornings, looking out at the mountains. The kids loved the pool table and it was great for them to have their own space to unwind. The decor/ artwork was so pretty and instantly made me feel relaxed. There was ample outdoor seating on the porches. The only cons, and I’m not sure if they’re cons or me being too picky :) but I just expected “better” for the price I paid. I picked a place at a premium price-plenty of others were cheaper. For what we paid (over $4k for the week), I just wouldn’t have expected the carpets, countertops and some of the furniture to be so obviously damaged and worn. The hot tub worked fine and was a nice touch, just old and had no cover assist which made it a little cumbersome. Host had tons of info for easy check in and check out which was helpful. Overall good experience.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, May 2025

We really enjoyed our stay at Kara’s place! The location was perfect for us. About 30 min to Cades Cove or Dollywood and about 40 minutes to downtown Gatlinburg, so we were able to do everything we wanted while still being in a quieter area with a nice view of the mountains. There are a few other houses near the cabin, but we never saw any people. We did see bears one morning which was exciting! The kitchen is on the small side but very well stocked—the only things we bought were extra paper towels and a sponge! We loved the games provided too! We would definitely consider staying here again!

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, May 2025

We had a nice stay here. We lounged around a lot and made use of the well-stocked kitchen. The house was smaller than what the pictures led us to believe but even so we were all comfortable. There was a maintenance issue that occured while we were there and Kara took care of that right away and was very communicative throughout the whole stay. The sunsets were beautiful from the deck and one of our family members spotted a bobcat while drinking coffee on the deck one morning! We had trouble with a couple of the doors and completely avoided using the downstairs one as it was very difficult to close afterwards.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, May 2025

The setting was beautiful. Very peaceful. Lots of fun games and many televisions the kids enjoyed. It is listed as 5 bedrooms and one is a loft that is open to the whole house. The loft made it challenging to get sleep as we’d booked with two couples and 6 kids to have plenty of private space for all to rest. Communication was proactive and clear for arrival and departure. The local recommendations were really great.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, April 2025

The place was great and had plenty of space for our family of 5 to spread out. Location worked out great, about 15 minutes from both Townsend and Pigeon Forge.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, March 2025

We loved our stay at Kara’s place. Beautiful views, exactly as described, and a quick drive over to Dollywood or to the national park. Kara communicated very well. We loved the basement area for the kids, and it was a very well stocked kitchen. We would recommend and we’ll definitely return!

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, February 2025

Awesome place! Tucked away in the hills but so close to everything else in Townsend, 20-30 minutes to Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg, etc. Just as nice as the pictures and perfectly described. I would definitely stay here again!

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, January 2025

Our stay at this cabin was nothing short of amazing! Nestled in a serene location with stunning mountain views, it was the perfect getaway for our family. The cabin was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, blending rustic charm with modern amenities. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the cozy living room with the fireplace was an ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The location was fantastic—close enough to all the attractions in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, yet tucked away in a peaceful setting. The outdoor spaces, including the balcony and hot tub, allowed us to fully enjoy the beauty of the Smokies. We especially loved the thoughtful touches, like the comfortable beds, extra blankets, the holiday decor and clear instructions for check-in and check-out. It’s clear that the hosts care about creating a warm and welcoming experience.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, December 2024

This cabin was incredible!!! It made our trip to Gatlinburg so much better. We looked forward to it the most! Kara was very responsive to our questions days prior to our arrival. Everything was clean and the view was absolutely gorgeous 💗💗💗 If you’re reading this book now because you won’t regret it.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, December 2024

What an incredible stay! My family and I absolutely loved our time at Kara’s Airbnb. The location was perfect—close to stores, sights, and attractions, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and removed from the hustle and bustle of touristy areas. The balcony view was breathtaking, especially during golden hour! The space was thoughtfully designed, offering plenty of room for us to enjoy quality time together while also allowing for moments of quiet relaxation. One thing to note is that the staircase is quite steep, which may be challenging for little ones. We purchased baby gates ahead of time, but unfortunately, the entryways were too wide for them to fit. If you’re traveling with small children, this is something to keep in mind. Overall, we had an amazing experience and can’t wait to return! Highly recommend this place!

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, December 2024

Pro's: View, location, drivable, close to town, peaceful, beautiful cabin in general. We took lovely pictures here inside and outside of the cabin. Con's: -Walls are thin, you can hear into every bedroom. -Only basement TV worked the entire stay (Kara did instacart a new one on day 2, but it still did not work), it was a known issue before we arrived, but was still not taken care of. Disappointed, holiday time, we had planned a Christmas movie night by the fire. There was no resolution here, we just did without the entire time. Kids used the basement TV. -Basement is sooo cold! We could not find a comfort level, just extra clothes.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, October 2024

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, October 2024

We have stayed at several AirBNB’s over the years and this was certainly the cleanest place we have booked. We really loved the location of Kara’s place near Wears Valley so that we could be close to our favorite local spots, and only being moments away from the national park and downtown Gatlinburg. The cabin was extremely spacious, private and had a ton of activities for our kids like board games, video games and access to Disney Plus. We enjoyed all the thoughtful details of where to locate items within the home and how the hosts included things like foil, cling wrap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and the abundance of towels! Truly a wonderful stay and will certainly book future trips at Kara’s! We did see a bear during our stay, which made the experience all the more memorable. Thank you again, Kara!

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, June 2024

My family thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Cozy Mountain Cabin! The view from the back deck was breathtakingly spectacular! Definitely loved the cozy feeling inside. It was so peaceful and serene and offered a sense of tranquility and rest. My family described our stay as "Dynamite!" with "20 Stars!" God really blessed us with this gem. Thank you, Kara and family, for sharing your heavenly abode with us! We are so very grateful!

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, May 2024

Beautiful cabin near Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Sunsets on the deck are a must! The view was spectacular. Appreciated all the little touches to make you feel right at home. The cabin is close enough to drive to town with ease, but far enough away to enjoy the quiet of the woods away from the crowds.

Jennifer N.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, March 2024

A lovely place to stay with a group of friends or with family! I loved that it had multiple private bedrooms and a well-stocked kitchen with all the tools needed to cook at home. There were multiple spaces to spend time both inside and out. It is also a fairly easy drive up (not a twisting roads as some cabins in the area) and very close to town with lots of interesting things to do. Highly recommend the nearby hike at Laurel Falls!

Sophia W.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, January 2024

This was the perfect getaway for our family. The space was perfect for us to spend time together and have our own space when needed. The location was beautiful! The cabin had everything we could have asked for and more!

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, December 2023

This cabin was absolutely breathtaking. It was spotless and had everything we could ever need. That bath tub was half the size of a king sized bed length and width and the hot tub was super hot and wonderful! She even left us a little gift! We enjoyed every second of our stay, and really didn’t want to leave.

Erica A.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, December 2023

Kara’s place was perfect for my family over our Thanksgiving holiday! She made our stay feel very special and she always was responsive when I had a question. The location of her cabin was perfectly located between Townsend, Pigeon Forge and the National Park. The cabin was very clean, peaceful and had an amazing view of the sunset. I would highly recommend this cabin to any family, even a family with little kids.

Andrew H.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, November 2023

We enjoyed the cabin. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The bedroom ceiling fans had remote control for lighting and fan speed. Several of them did not work properly. The main floor bedroom fan would not work at all, the remote control would not turn off the light while the fan was working above the bed in the loft so you could not operate the fan when you went to sleep. You had to turn off the fan so the light would turn off. The refrigerator does not have an icemaker. You will have to climb either outside or inside stairs to get to the main level due to the driveway/parking area is on the basement floor. The driveway is very challenging once you start to leave the property (if there are multiple vehicles) due it being a steep grade and having to share the driveway with another cabin/cars. These are very minor issues that I am describing. However, it is a very cozy, clean cabin with many amenities that will accommodate quite a few guests. I would return!

Mike S.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, November 2023

She def added allot of small details that made the place outstanding. Everything worked & the cabin was very comfortable. Easy to find. We got to see a mama bear & cubs. This is a perfect place for a cabin getaway. & the host was responsive.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, October 2023

Kara’s place was a perfect base for our golf weekend in Townsend. We played the local course (Laurel Valley) the first day, appreciating the short drive back to the chalet, where dinner consisted of sliders and hot dogs cooked on the charcoal grill outside. Note, there are bears in the neighborhood, as we had a visitor right after we finished cooking! The second day found us at Egwani Farms, a slightly longer drive, but we got back to the chalet in reasonable time to cook up a nice Italian dinner. The hot tub soothed several backs and the big dining room table was perfect for cards later. We had 7 guys and made the most efficient use of sleeping space. Note that one of the bathrooms only had a whirlpool tub, which wasn’t useful for our crowd (but your wives will probably love it). Overall, the house worked well for us and we would rent it again should we revisit Townsend. Thanks Kara!

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, September 2023

Great location! Definitely the peaceful side of the Smoky Mountains ☺️ super close to the park! Easy quick trip to Pigeon Forge too. The kitchen was fully stocked, rooms were clean. The back of the house decks were clean too, a nice place to have coffee in the morning and to watch the sunset at night. My family of 5 was more than comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We didn’t visit the community pool. I would recommend Kara’s place for anyone visiting the area!

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, May 2023

One of the most beautiful airbnbs I’ve stayed in! The house and the views were absolutely amazing. Lots of stuff to go out and see around the area as well. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place in Tennessee. 10/10!

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, April 2023

First things first, the photos do this cabin NO justice at all. No matter what room you are in while inside the cabin you have a beautiful view of the cabin. every room was bigger than expected and the whole cabin was relaxing and peaceful. Kara was very responsive and communicated with any questions or concerns we had before and during the trip. While we were there, there was a storm that ended up knocking out all of the power on the mountain and Kara was easy and quick to talk to so she knew what was going on. She stayed in touch with us regarding expectations for the power to come back on and what to do in order to still have a comfortable time in the cabin. No power in the city is a big deal but while in a cabin not so much, at least this cabin it wasn't. if you are looking for a place to stay that is close enough to get to things but far enough away that you don't have to worry about people this is it. and if you like the pictures you will LOVE it in person. Thanks Kara

Marqueis J.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, April 2023

Definitely a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ experience! Plenty of spaces for the teens to do their things, while the adults relaxed and enjoyed the view! Most well-stocked kitchen we have ever had at a vacation property. Beds and pillows were super comfortable.

Our trip to Gatlinburg was amazing! The cabin we stayed at felt just like home! It literally had everything we needed even a playroom for the kiddos! Super clean home and all the amenities you need for a perfect getaway trip. Thank you so much Kara for our wonderful time at your cabin!

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, January 2023

After staying in cabins in the Smokies for over 20 years, we found that this was by far our most pleasant experience! The kitchen was stocked with absolutely anything you would want..including a slow cooker which was amazing! Literally we wanted for nothing. The space was so comfortable and seemed even more roomy than it was..it was easy to be there for several days with 7 people. The attention to detail was incredible. From the decor, the “in case you forgot” box, (and we did 😂) to the games and the sweet and generous gift left by the hostess for us. Everything went above and well- beyond our expectations! The beds were so comfortable, the TVs were the perfect size, the towels were so luxurious and all of the extras made it an absolutely wonderful vacation for our family. We would love to visit again ❤️

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, December 2022

Nice view. If the neighbors have 4 vehicles as well, it’s a little tight but expected on the side of a mountain. Outside of that it has everything you need.

Cody H.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, December 2022

Kara’s cabin was everything we were looking for this Thanksgiving! The cabin was spacious and clean, and Kara’s details were warm and welcoming. The area was close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but also further out enough to stay away from the hustle and bustle. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Yadira P.

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, November 2022

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, November 2022

We had a great long weekend at the cabin. The Cabin was in the perfect spot to go to the UT football game as well as spend time in the Smokeys! The cabin was not hard to find and is well marked. We had 9 people stay and we had plenty of room with the 5 bedrooms. Everyone said their beds were comfortable and had good quality linens. The Cabin was decorated with fun Fall themed items! We enjoyed watching the sun set from the main deck and it was nice to have the rocking chairs. We used the Hot tub every day and it was wonderful and fit 4-5 pretty nicely. The view from the Cabin was the best! We did have 1 bear walk up the driveway and check out the grill we used the night before. The drive way is steep but it is set up well to turn around and navigate it without any issues. Kara was quick to respond to me and was helpful when I asked questions as well as did me a extra favor!! The house had lots of extras in the kitchen which was nice as far as spices, oil etc. The only thing I would say was a little hard was the size of the kitchen, it is a little small if your trying to do a lot of cooking with limited counter space and food storage areas. The Cabin was clean but, I have found that most of these places lack attention to details because the cleaning services want to get in and out as fast as possible so we did find plastic water bottles in a room under the bed and some snack bags in another but, that's not uncommon and not the fault of the owners. The best part of the Cabin is the Sunsets and to top off the perfect Long weekend with a Vols Win we enjoyed the cabin and it was perfect for a friend's getaway!! Thank you for sharing it with us!!

Sunset Vista in the Smokies, November 2022

Pros: - Location. We were able to get to Gatlinburg and Pidgeon Forge in 20-30 minutes. At the end of the day it was so relaxing to get away from the crowds. - Comfortable. The beds were amazing! Slept like a Princess! The large soaker tub was so relaxing and it has an amazing view. Couches and chairs were comfy. Plenty of table space to eat with our party of 6. Hot tub was incredible. Also the entire cabin smelled sooo good. The soaps and lotions provided smelled amazing too. - Roomy. I had two teens and a 10yo in my party and the downstairs was the perfect space for them to hang out and do their thing. Turns out they love playing pool! Plenty of bathrooms and beds for our party of 6. We all had our personal space to retreat to. -Scenic. Saw a bear from the back porch! So exciting!!!! Great Mountain View I could never get tired of. It was hard to leave! -Fun Lots of games for people of all ages- even babies! Cons: - Living room My one and only issue was the living room set up. We like to watch movies as a family and fitting 6 people in the living room area was a bit of a challenge. There was another couch and TV in the downstairs area though so plenty of space if you split up.

Wonderful cabin and a great experience for my group of 8! Plenty of sleeping space and living space. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking equipment so cooking a few nights on our stay was a breeze. The view was beautiful from the balcony so the location was perfect. A great cabin for a large or small group with great amenities.
